The Best Of Albert Watson From September 15 through October 30, 2010, Photographerslimitededitions.com (Wien), present the best of Albert Watson, one of our favorites photographers. The exhibition shows a comprehensive selection of his most prominent work. Over forty photographs of different genres and formats present an overview of the artist’s diverse body of work. Following his austrian debut exhibition in 2006 at KunstHaus Wien, the artist is represented now for the first time in an exhibition at a commercial gallery for contemporary fine art photography in Austria. Albert Watson has photographed many of the world’s most famous personalities: kings and presidents, movie stars, pop singers and super models, such as Kate Moss, David Beckham, Johnny Depp, Jack Nicholson, Naomi Campbell or Marilyn Manson. A tireless workaholic, he has taken about 10 million photographs over the course of forty years and become one of the most accomplished artists working in fashion and commercial photography today. His distinct personal style has led to an enormous success in the beauty industry. He has shot some 250 covers for Vogue magazine alone, numerous fashion editorials, produced music videos and countless television ads for established brands like GAP, Levi’s, Revlon and Chanel. His subjects seem enveloped in an air of abstract contemplation while engaging the viewer with a striking immediacy at the same time. Albert Watson’s photographs are esteemed works of classic contemporary fine art photography. |
